Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

$63,800.00 - $105,400.00

What Is the Opportunity?

The Treasury Team, part of corporate finance, serves several critical functions supporting our partners in Corporate and Investments as well as Travelers' Business units and Subsidiary teams. The team manages and oversees daily liquidity, payments, debt and equity capital position, internal capital optimization, and banking relationships on behalf of the enterprise. This is a fast-paced environment with a variety of challenges and opportunities.

As an Analyst, Custody you will be responsible for performing daily custody operations activities, including working with custodian banks on trade settlements, reconciling transactions in the Treasury management system, and corresponding with banks and Departments of Insurance regarding pledged assets.

In this role you will perform bank account administration and bank fee analysis and reporting; and collaborate with internal business partners to meet their Treasury needs, operational activities, and strategic initiatives.

Incumbents who fill this position and are required to access or operate SWIFT Infrastructure or SWIFT related systems, will be subject to periodic post-hire background checks while employed in this position. As a condition of acceptance for this position, selected candidates will be required to electronically accept the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) Disclosure Statement and Authorization included in the online employment application. You may also be subsequently asked to accept similar FCRA authorization periodically throughout your employment with the Company.

What Will You Do?
  • Reconcile custodial bank activity and prepares feed to the general ledger.
  • Prepare manual accounting entries as needed.
  • Perform trade matching with brokers, monitor trade settlements and research issues as needed.
  • Leverage Treasury Management System, and internal software in support of daily Treasury activities including upgrades and system testing and maintaining system database tables and integrity of data.
  • Monitor asset positions held for state deposit purposes and processes security exchanges and complete annual State Deposit reporting requirements.
  • Monitor, analyze, and prepare invoices for payment of bank account fees.
  • Manage the opening/closing of bank accounts.
  • Gather information for audit and SOX control testing requirements.
  • Reconcile vault inventory.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
  • 2 years of experience in finance, accounting, or related Treasury activities.
  • Prior experience working with banks and/or financial institutions.
  • Knowledge of Treasury concepts and processes.
  • Ability to think logically; solve challenges and make recommendations for more efficient processes.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Treasury software/systems.
  • Written and verbal communication skills with the ability to pay attention to detail and effectively convey information.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or comparable advanced professional education.
