Allstate Insurance Company, a Fortune 100 organization, is home to one of the nation’s largest and most sophisticated in‑house legal departments. We are currently seeking Summer Law Clerk candidates to join our Law & Regulation Department.

ٲٱ’s summerlaw clerkprogram is a paid,ten-weekhybridexperience.This position is based inٲٱ’sWashington, D.C. Federal Affairs Office, wherelaw clerkswill work onsite 2–3 days per week.Travel to ٲٱ’sChicago officeswill berequired.The clerkshipoffers summerlaw clerksthe opportunity to work with multiple divisions within the department, including Global Litigation, Employment Law, Business Law,Compliance, Corporate Law, and Government and Industry Relations.ٲٱ’s Law & RegulationDepartmentoperatesunder a clear structure, givinglaw clerksvisibility into how legal work directly supports business growth and risk mitigation.

A summerlaw clerk’s responsibilities include legal research, preparation of legal memoranda, and oral presentations under the supervision of a licensed Allstate attorney.Law Clerkswill be paired with a dedicated attorney-mentor and willparticipatein structured programming that highlights how the department executes its legal and strategic goals. They may alsoobserveinternal strategy sessions, and business-unit briefings.Law Clerksin the D.C. office will also have opportunities to engage directly with federal and state lawmakers,observepolicy development, and support federal affairs initiatives.

The salary is competitive, and the position begins in early June2026. Ideal candidates should have outstanding research and writing skills, along with effective oral communication skills. Allstate is looking forstudents tojoin us after successfully completing theirfirst year of law school (Rising 2Ls)whodemonstratechange agilityandembracecross-functional collaboration, andinnovation.Law clerkswill gain exposure to initiatives aligned with Law & Regulation’s enterprise-wide goals, including innovation in legal operations, AI and data analytics integration, legal system abuse mitigation efforts, climate-related strategies, and cross-functional business partnerships. Students interested ingovernment affairs,corporate practice, complex litigation, regulatory policy,andlegal innovation are strongly encouraged to apply.This role is particularly well suited for students with an interest in government affairs, public policy, or the intersection of law and legislative advocacy.Law school transcripts arerequired. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is expected, along withdemonstratedexcellence in research, writing, and analytical skills.
