Job Description
The CAT Response Lead Consultant provides strategic direction and effective communication to ensure the smooth execution of catastrophe claims processes. This includes overseeing both coded and non-coded CAT activity from beginning to end, with a strong focus on process compliance, operational performance, and customer satisfaction.
Partnering with the Cat Response MCM, this role supports storm activity within a designated territory, contributing to cross-functional efforts across regional operations, agency relationships, staffing, communications, and cost management.

Compensation
Compensation offered for this role is $85,600.00 - 152,650.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.

Job Description
The CAT Response Lead Consultant provides strategic direction and effective communication to ensure the smooth execution of catastrophe claims processes. This includes overseeing both coded and non-coded CAT activity from beginning to end, with a strong focus on process compliance, operational performance, and customer satisfaction.
Partnering with the Cat Response MCM, this role supports storm activity within a designated territory, contributing to cross-functional efforts across regional operations, agency relationships, staffing, communications, and cost management.
Key Responsibilities
- Resolve escalated customer concerns, conflicts, and communications.
- Act as the primary liaison between the National Catastrophe Team (NCT) and internal stakeholders such as Sales Leaders, Legal, and Home Office teams.
- Strengthen relationships and communication across agency partners (exclusive and independent), corporate functions, and external organizations (e.g., United Way, Red Cross, state emergency agencies).
- Promote NCT visibility through collaborative outreach and strategic partnerships.
- Analyze operational and statistical data to identify trends and drive informed decision-making.
- Develop, execute, and refine catastrophe response strategies across the event lifecycle—before, during, and after deployment.
- Oversee regulatory compliance including Department of Insurance (DOI) complaints, audits, and agent/regular business partnerships.
You're a great match for this role if you:
- Have 5+ years of property claims experience (minimum preferred).
- Possess people management skills with prior management or leadership experience.
- Are strong in mentoring and coaching, a critical skill for guiding and influencing cross-functional teams in a liaison role.
- Have led or supported a property claims team (preferred).
- Bring 3+ years of experience with Xactimate (Level 3 certification a plus).
- Demonstrate exceptional analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Excel in negotiation and arbitration, with the capability to mentor peers.
- Empathetic, positive, and self-motivated, with strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Highly adaptable to various challenges and environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to make quick, sound decisions under pressure.
- Effective multitasker, managing priorities efficiently.
- Proactive and solutions-oriented, taking initiative to address challenges independently.
- Flexible and capable of shifting focus seamlessly to meet evolving business needs.
- Meet the physical requirements of the role (including travel, standing for long periods, working outdoors, climbing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs).
Schedule, Travel & Location
- Schedule: 10 days on / 4 days off during CAT events (7 AM–7 PM); Non-CAT hours: Monday–Friday, 8 AM–4:30 PM.
- Travel: Up to 70% annually, depending on operational needs and storm activity.
- Location: Open to candidates in any U.S. time zone.
- Not eligible for residents of: California, Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, or Puerto Rico.
